Soprano Astrid Marie Lazar completed her studies in the US.  She gained first stage experiences with small companies in the New York City area, performing roles like Violetta in La Traviata and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni amongst others.  

Her first full-time engagement in Germany was at the Theater Hof, where she appeared to great critical acclaim as Violetta in La Traviata, Fiordiligi (Cosi fan Tutte), Lisa (Land of the Smiles), Sylva Varescu (Die Csardasfürstin) and Dorota in Schwanda der Dudelsackpfeiffer amongst others.  Eventually she made her successful role debut as Tosca at the Musikfestival Steyr, Austria, followed by another Tosca engagement with Busan Grand Opera Company&Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra in South-Korea.  Her voice has now grown into the German young-dramatic-soprano Fach in which she recently debuted in her first major role, singing Marta in D’Albert’s opera Tiefland at the Eduard v. Winterstein Theater in Annaberg-Buchholz, Germany.  

She has guested in a number of theatres such as Passau (Violetta, La Traviata), Würzburg as Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte), Ravensburg as Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) and Saffi (Der Zigeunerbaron), Opera Festival di Roma, Italy (La Contessa, Le Nozze di Figaro), the Operetta-Touring-Company-Hannover as Lisa (Land of the Smiles) touring Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Theater an der Rott as Countess Mariza, and Friedrichshafen as Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), and as a guest soloist in the renowned Salute to Vienna Concerts with the Sarasota Symphony.  Currently she is touring Germany as Rosalinde in the operetta Die Fledermaus.

As an accomplished oratorio and concert singer, Astrid Marie Lazar has performed throughout Germany and the US.  Amongst Ms. Lazar studies were several prominent master classes, some of which with Ileana Cotrubas, Meredith Monk and Lucile Evans, and music festivals such as Festival Campos do Jordão in Brazil.  She also was a participant in the “Münchner Singschul 2000” (Munich Singing School), founded by August Everding.
